cheerleading tryouts

Today, Wednesday June 15th, there are cheerleading tryouts at 3 in the main gym at East Bridgewater High School for the east bridgewater cheerleaders.

Tryouts start at 3 but we have to be ready by 245. There are a couple of new freshman trying out but they arent that good so i dont think they will make the team. There were no seniors on our team last year so the team will probably be the same team as last year.

The tryouts are a two day tryouts, Wednesday and Thursday.

summer weather

It's almost June and it already feels like summer. People are already heading to the beaches and getting tans. The weather all weekend has been at least in the 80's and sunny.
Almost all of East Bridgewater High School has been to the beach this year and it isnt even summer yet. Nantasket beach is the most popular beach to go to this year. No matter when you go you will most likely see someone you know. The beach weather is the best weather all year round.
Everyone has been waiting for the cold weather to be gone and time for the beach and pool weather to come. People are starting to open up their pools again and start swimming. The smell of chlorine in your hair after swimming just tells you that summer is here.
This is the time of year when you start seeing a lot of people outside rather than inside being unactive. Even though the air conditioner in our houses feels good everyone would rather be outside swimming or tanning. This summer is going to be a great summer only because the weather has started up early!

We had ideas of canning and its the middle of April and we still havent fundraised.

In the meeting on thursday things will be discussed such as:

Matt will discuss fundraising ideas and talk about the states rings and newest information.

Matt has told everyone to bring their warmup jacket to the meeting tomorrow.

Missing cheerleading

During cheerleading season i couldnt wait for it to be over but now that it is over i wish it wasnt. I would way rather be at cheerleading than softball because im with all my close friends at cheerleading and this year our cheering team created a bond which i love. All of us are best friends and we all tell each other everything.

I wish i still had cheerleading because i love the feeling of get first place at competitions and practicing almost everyday to prepare for each competition. Also, because of softball i havent had time to go to tumbling at full house so i havent done anything cheerleading related.

Coach, Matt Monteiro, made each person on our team a video of some practices and funny moments we had all year and us winning first place at states and i watched it the other day. Just listening to the lady at states saying "first places goes to East Bridgewater" makes my stomache drop.

I am so excited for cheerleading in the fall because the football games are my favorite part of that season. They are so fun and no one on the team will be leaving because we have no seniors so it will be so much fun next year!

States

March 13th, Sunday aftertoon, Coach Matt Monteiro brought his team to Wachusette High School for the states cheerleading competition to compete for the division 3 state title.

After Regionals, the girls practiced for four days working hard and doing whatever it took to hit a perfect routine. Former Gloucester coach, Eric Bichao, came to practices to help the team out to win a state title.

The team won the state title with a score of 91.375. All of the girls on the team jumped up and down screaming and crying when the announcer announced us for first place. "When the sun lit up on us in the pyramid in warmups I knew that had to mean something," says Coach Monteiro.

The girls hit a perfect routine even without dance music. Who needs dance music? The music for the cheerleaders had a scratch on the CD and stopped at the beginning of the dance but the girls kept dancing like nothing happened. After hitting our routine Eric said, "I don't know who this team is anymore...and that's a good thing. You girls finally know what passion is and I don't know what can top that."

The Watergate Scandal

The Watergate Scandal was a political crisis that led to the resignation of a President. The President that resigned due to the scandal was Richard Nixon.

The Watergate Scandal was a break-in to the Democratic National Committee at the watergate complex. It was said, Richard Nixon had a recording system in his office which recorded conversations that went on and he had tried to cover up the recordings but got caught later on and had to give the recordings up to the court system.

A security guard working at the Watergate complex noticed tape on a couple of the locks and not thinking of it he took off the tape and a couple hours later the tape was reapplied.

The Watergate Scandal was called watergate because it took place at the Watergate Complex.

The two journalists that uncovered the scandal were Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. There was also an anonymous source that helped the journalists was Mark Felt, also known as Deepthroat.
