Cheerleading Practices

Coach, Matt Monterio, has been working the East Bridgewater Cheerleading team very hard lately to get ready for Regionals. Monday night's practice was an easy practice so far but it was mainly cleaning up the routine so we don't loose points on the small things, like being clean, loud, and in sync. Today we have practice and it is going to be a tough practice but it will be worth it in the end. All the cheerleaders are working hard and doing whatever they can to be the best they can be. Coach Matt does get upset sometimes with how much effort we don't put into the routine but that only makes us learn to give effort all the time. We have to remember to always have passion and performing the right way. I personally, can't wait for Regionals to see what we score and how far we have come throughout the year. Every single cheerleader out there, even the alternates, have worked their hardest and we made it so far this year. Come support us at Regionals on Sunday at Dartmouth High School!

Softball

I cannot wait until softball starts because I've been doing cheerleading all school year and it will be good to finally have a break from it. I love softball. Last year I made JV and was moved up to Varsity at the end of the year. I am hoping to make Varsity again. The only bad thing about it is you don't get a lot of playing time so I kind of want to be on JV just so I can play a lot. My favorite position is second base. I hate outfield because I'm not good at it. I also love hitting and running the bases because i love running your hardest to make it to each base. Softball is deffinetly my favorite sport and I am so excited for it to start! The coach for Varsity this year is Mr. Dunphy. It is his last year and then he is retiring from coaching. I don't know who the coach next year will be though.

Invitational competition

On Monday, February 14th, the East Bridgewater cheerleading team had a competiton at Bristol Plymouth High school. The competiton was an invitational so it wasn't that big. We came in third place out of seven teams. Our energy was great Monday, we just had a couple small mistakes. We scored an eighty because we had one prone and a couple people busted their tumbling. Jaime stumbled across the mat after her standing back and finally caught her balance when she was getting ready to set for the opening stunts. Not everyone had a great day because everyone was tired from the weekend because there was an all star competition and half of our team is on all stars. Today is our day to rest because we have a lot of work to do when we get back to practicing. Come support us at Regionals on Sunday, March 6th, 2011.
